This novel is like going along a river on a humid day. The heat is so oppressive you can barely concentrate on anything and then, suddenly, you dip your hand into the river and are refreshed with such clarity that all the confusion prior feels worth the moment now. Highlights for me include the chapter in Cambridge, which made me delightfully homesick, and the cover, which bears an uncanny resemblance to my dear friend, sweet Jacob Heayes.
