Let me just preface by saying that I love monsters of all kinds and I was excited to hear about this anthology about Kaiju!

Devour the Earth was a good mix of stories: serious, irreverent, silly, foreboding, and even poetry from John Baltisberger (whom I've come to know well through his writing this year). The thing I love about anthologies is that I get to preview authors I've never tried or heard of. I'm particularly looking forward to reading more from Reed Alexander (Maggot was probably my favorite and will stick with me for a while) and Kathleen Allen (apparently, There Leviathan is her first published story and it set the perfect tone as the opening story).

There was something to love about each story in this anthology, so if you want more giant monsters in your life, this book is for you!
