Now I'm going to be totally honest here. I read the first three books so that I could complete some challenges for the Booktubeathon. I kind of feel like it's cheating because they're so short, but let me explain.
The Spiderwick books let me knock out four different challenges for Booktubeathon. I was told that one book could be part of more than one challenge. So unintentionally I did three.
The first challenge this knocked out was #3: Read someone else's favorite book. The Spiderwick Chronicles just happens to be my boyfriends favorite series. Sadly I only own the first three but my boyfriend says that it counts.
Then it knocked out challenge #5: Read a book without letting it go. The books are short and simple and I've read them multiple times so it's almost like fixing a meal that you've cooked a million times.
Then it also knocked out challenge #2: Read a book by an author who shares the same first letter of your last name. I don't own a lot of book with an author that has a B in their last name. In fact, I think Holly Black is the only one. I could be wrong.
I would say that challenge #1 was knocked out as well since the first book had blue all over the cover. I figured I wouldn't make the challenges too easy for myself so I'm going to hold off on that challenge for later.

This also means that I have read 3 out of 7 books for this challenge. I thought about only counting it as one book but, I don't really read that fast. I hate to admit it but it takes me about two days to read a full size three hundred page book because I don't usually get the chance to just sit down and read non-stop.

Anyway, there's that. Regarding the book though, I really do love these books. They are so well written and I read them again and again as a kid because I was fascinated by the concept. I do plan to buy the rest of the books and hopefully watch the movie again soon. Reading the books makes me want to watch the movie and play the console game again. Ah nostalgia.

There are stories that you don’t realize that set your world of imagination from the moments that you finish them. When I was a child, the spiderwick chronicles was my favorite. It was a world that satisfied the yearning I had for a world that existed alongside the real world.

I didn’t realized that both the illustrator and the author were ones that I would meet again as I got older. From dungeons and dragons to other more grown up books. So I wanted to dive back into the world of Spiderwick. I’m so glad I did because I was like this was the bar of standards I had for things as I grew older. Now I must recommend this book to everyone of all ages.
