I really like most of this story, but there's a big tone problem throughout. It started out as a comedy, it turned pretty angsty, then it went completely off the rails and we're just supposed to forgive him? I'll give props to the book, it showed them having grown, not just telling us that they've grown. I think with a little more editing this book could have been more cohesive.

Told from a single POV throughout most of the book, you have to wonder which character is featured in the title, but both truly qualify... but it made for a sweet and twisting build-up to Matt's revelations. I think it was well thought out and well written and I love the premise of "Am I the Problem?" for the series.
I loved how supportive people were of Matt's admissions and I appreciated that the author built the world and the friends group up so we have a glimpse into the series and now I can't wait for all the friends and even Cassian's ex to get their HEAs!

I kissed my best friend. And loved it. And Iām gay.
Everyone in this story is bad and annoying, and the writing is bad. Matt is such a pathetic looser and a creepizoid. You have feelings for your best friend so you decide to break up his current relationship in order for you to slip in??? WEIRDO. Cass is so emotionally stunted and Logan is a douche. This was an actively unfun experience.

I did enjoy this book but it didn't massively stick out to me, there was a lot in there which was so over the top that it was bordering annoying. I love over the top in books but it just didn't work so well for me in this one. The main character was kinda irritating but overall I liked him, and I really liked all the side characters. Didn't think much of Logan but he didn't really do anything wrong, but I guess as it was all from Matts POV we weren't supposed to like him but... he didn't really do anything wrong haha
It also did bother me slightly that every chapter had Matt on it, indicating that there would be a chapter from Cass at some point which I was really excited for but there just..... wasn't (only the epilogue)
I will definitely read the next book and other works by this author though :)

Matt is like a puppy, a really stupid puppy, that ignores multiple people telling him the same thing. While I was into the story, it made it really difficult to stick with it. In the end the fact that heās justā¦forgiven for everything he does and how poorly he actsā¦kinda soured me.Ā
Ā
Cute ending, though.
