SO GOOD- can’t wait for the next one!

I discovered this author by scrolling through the kindle store. I noticed the cover, read the blurb, and decided to give it a chance. The writing was great, the story even better. The author does a great job keeping the reader interested in the book, developing the characters, and keeping the story entertaining! I was glad this story didn’t seem rushed, but the author didn’t drag parts along either. It was perfectly balanced and had me wanting more. Definitely a recommended read!! Can’t wait for the next one!!

I first became aware of this book through a friend, and I couldn't have been more grateful because I plan to binge read the whole series after finishing this.

For majority of the book I was completely enthralled, and being a complete sucker for small town romances I absolutely consumed it. I was in the mood for something sweet and light hearted, and this definitely hit the mark.

My heart broke a little for 12 year old Sofia, and to be honest for grown Sofia. I found it brave of her to go back home and face the skeletons in the closet. I did not see Braxton coming, because like always I don't read blurbs so I never suspected Sofia would end up with her father's nephew inlaw, but what a pleasant surprise it was.

A highlight for me was the side characters. I loved how they kept their boundaries, but also stepped in when necessary to put both Brax and Sofia in their place when it was needed. They also brought humor to the story, which kept it entertaining and light hearted when things started to get doom and gloom.

This had the potential to be a 5 star read for me, unfortunately when I finished it I didn't have that satisfying feeling that you typically get after reading a book you love. It fell flat for me towards the end, and I finished it wishing I had gotten more. Everything felt rushed, especially when it came to the relationships in the story. I didn't get a chance to really enjoy Brax and Sofia as a couple. They're not together for majority of the book, so I would have liked to have seen more of them evolve as a couple rather than just a small portion at the end.
I also would have like to have gotten more interactions between Sofia and her father, especially after being a part for 20 years, I felt cheated out of what could have been a great reconciliation between a father and daughter. We definitely get closure, but this was only a small part towards the end. It would have been nice to see them rebuild their relationship throughout the book.

Overall I did enjoy this book, I only wished I could have finished this the way I started it, which was absolutely love it. Nevertheless I would still recommend this to anyone who enjoys small town romances.
