It is a great little fluffy light filler book with fantastically written characters. Mainly about Lou, who is encouraged to be a live-in carer for grumpy old man Edgar. Other supporting characters include Sammy, an aspiring singer, Jess, his girlfriend, Remy, the architect Sammy's brother and Lou's first crush, Captain Oates the grumpy rescue dog adopted and loved by Edgar following Lou's encouragement, the horrible selfishness Della and her children Tom and his sister and other wonderful villagers all intertwined into the story. Chick lit at its finest, but chicklit never the less. It did its job by giving me a great big village hug.
