Well worth the read, but obviously it's a heavy topic so approach with caution. It's important that we don't shy away from the horrible reality the victims experienced, and it's inspiring to hear the stories of those who survived.

An important piece of history. I had never thought of the importance of fashion or keeping others clothes during the holocaust and how it could help save so many women.
This book is written by a historical fashion expert and overlooks the minute details of horror and chooses to document the history of fashion as well as the seamstresses horrific tales of survival. It does well to keep their memories alive without allowing excuses for the Nazi parties. It does not minimize the actions of the SS but it does highlight acts that allowed our heroines to survive.

If you are interested in a more complex novelization of this period that is tangentially related, I recommend the Mistress of Auschwitz.
