This is the epic fantasy I have been missing. I loved everything about this book, from the characters and the mysterious pasts of all of the characters to the magic to the layers upon layers of reveals. All of the characters feel so distinct and lively and there is so much to learn about them as the book plots along. If you loved the epicness of Wheel of Time, but want to read a series that is a lot shorter (just three books!), then you will want to pick this one up! At around 700 pages, it is certainly long, but that feels like the exact right amount given how much happens in this story and the pacing throughout is just right.

Excellent. Feels like a darker wheel of time.

If you like Jordan but hate the way he writes women , this one's for you. Well paced, plotted, with intriguing mysteries and well-written characters.

A lot is going on while nothing is going on. Seems there’s time travel involved which makes everything confusing. I’m not attached to anyone
