What an absolutely lovely read. Not only was it simply lovely to read a book featuring the woefully underrepresented selkie, but I loved the romance in it. It was so lovely to see the idea of falling in love slowly on part of the human v. falling in love at first sight for the selkie, about seeing a romantic relationship where it's okay that they aren't on the same level of feelings immediately, where they fucking talk about their feelings, the magic of the Sea, where romantic love is not the end all be all and that a true, healthy love will open you up to becoming a better version of yourself... all of it is so, so good.
It's also a quick read, which I deeply appreciated as well. But it's all so lovely paced. I would love to see this adapted into a film or some kind of teen drama. Wonderfully done all around.
