This was nice to read after a gap of fourteen months after Inspector Morse's previous book.
Morse's character progresses a bit in this one. ... which was interesting. :)
The story by itself was also very good indeed.
Now, onward to Book 8, in a few months. :)

Another tightly-plotted novel in the series. Unfortunately though, the central premise of the solution (which I won't give spoilers for) was so ridiculous to me that it quite ruined the ending.

Due to the flu a rather short review...
The Secret of Annexe 13 is an Inspector Morse mystery involving a private hotel hosting a special holiday event complete with masquerade party. The guests were mainly staying in the new annexe, hence the title, and of course one of them winds up dead after the party. The guests have various secrets, including infidelity and false identities, that leave Morse and Lewis, his sidekick, following trails and piecing together what really happened and who did it. All tied up neatly in the end.

Almost forgot I read this. Less than 200 pages. The mystery was very convoluted and frankly I don't think in real life it would work, but to explain why would give away the game.

I liked this story there was more humour this time. An easy read kept you guessing. An enjoyable entry in the Morse series.
