Obviously I went into this book with the movie in mind and it is totally different which is a good thing, but I enjoy the movie so much it may have ruined this for me, there is only 3 things that are In the book from the movie, but the zoo chapter was the best in my eyes

A classic from 1934. As a classic, I'm glad that I finally read it, but this was just an okay read for me. It was quirky in spots, which I enjoyed, but it was slow and stuffy in other areas. Overall, it felt a bit disjointed.

There are a lot of moments of delight, but also a lot of moments that one has to edit out and/or explain ("Well, honey, we don't say that someone is 'behaving like a Red Indian' when they're being naughty..." etc.).

Which--hey, I get that things are Of A Time. Read it or explain it or skip it or whatever. But there are also other things to read and I don't think this is so great that if you're approaching it for the first time in 2022 it would necessarily be missed if you skip it.

Szégyenemre, én most olvastam először.

I loved this book. The magic was exciting! I like meeting the characters and seeing how they act. I also like how each chapter has a new adventure.

The language in this book was wonderful, as was the language in all older books.  The story was also sweet, but some chapters were definitely better than others.  Not quite as good as the true classics like Peter Pan and the likes, but still a lovely read for the younger crowd (under 10s).
