All take some of the blame for this one - when I bought this book, it was at a book sale with two others. All Bathroom Readers, all on specific subjects - TV, hockey and vehicles, and all very cheap - $3 each. Despite my love of the series, I had my reservations as to how interesting I would find the books. I don't watch a lot of TV and haven't for a long time, growing up in Canada as a hockey fan, I figured there would be a lot of stuff I already knew, and I've never had much interest in vehicles. The first two were delightfully surprising so I hoped the third would be the same, alas, I hoped in vain.

I've never had a ton of interest in vehicles, so the book would have to be pretty general in interest to win me over. I found a lot of it repetitive and boring. A lot of histories of car companies, a lot of bios of inventors or racing legends, a lot of specs for cars themselves. And some stretches - all the vehicles involved in the Kennedy assassination and what became of them seemed to be more of a stretch than most. Some of the book was interesting, but a lot of it was a slog. As Meatloaf says, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
