The Queen of romantic suspense has done it again!
Nash and Maddie have been friends for more than 20 years. After a traumatic event with her abusive ex, Maddie runs back to cedar ridge.
Nash wants to protect her but not ruin their friendship.
This one takes us past the 50% mark for them to admit their feelings, but it’s worth it!

-childhood friends to lovers
-one bed
-Who Did This To You
-stalker ex
-cute dog

Loved this! And did y’all see the next one is fake dating ?!?!?!

Oh hello Nash! What is it in these books that makes them so hard to put down? I love that it’s romance and suspense all wrapped into one. Dang does this family have some bad luck tho… Regardless, I had a good time reading this and already can’t wait for more. The small town vibes are everything, the steam was delicious, and the suspense had me guessing!

Thank you Catherine for the signed copy and all the goodies!

Absolutely LOVED THIS AUDIOBOOK! 5 Stars/2 Peppers

Audio was performed in dual style by Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke. They really outdid themselves on this one. I felt all the angst and emotion of Nash and Maddie. Perfection.

Echoes took it up a notch from Whispers of You with the childhood best friends to lovers and protector tropes. I appreciate a story where an abused woman gets justice and comes out so much stronger in the end. I also felt like the author did a great job of showing how it's not always a black and white solution and the woman should just leave. It's a much more complicated and sometimes even more dangerous thing to do.

When Maddie and Nash finally talk about their feelings for each other, I SWOONED. Not wanted to hurt their friendship kept them silent about it for many years. And when we finally realize why Maddie slowly stopped contacted Nash- my heart broke.

And Catherine got me with that surprise twist near the end! Didn't see that coming.

Tropes:
*Small Town
*Protector
*Childhood friends to lovers
*Domestic violence
*Abusive parents
*Found Family

Catherine Cowles has done it again! She is a master at delivering romantic suspense filled with slow burn romance and fantastic characters. The cozy feel of the small town is still there to wrap you up like a warm hug while the backstory of the characters adds depth and relatability to her novels. I love how she sets up the future books in the series and introduces us to all the side characters without it being distracting and still keeping to the plot of the current book. While the background of the main characters is dark and complex, there is still that underlying cozy vibe.

The worlds that Catherine Cowles builds in her series always draws me in and as per usual I was hooked on this book right from the get go. At the heart of this novel is the touching love story between Maddie and Nash. Catherine Cowles masterfully weaves together their individual stories, bringing to light their vulnerabilities, strengths, and shared experiences in a way that is both captivating and heartbreaking. As readers journey with Maddie and Nash through their struggles and triumphs, they'll find themselves fully invested in their relationship, rooting for them every step of the way. I am personally a huge fan of slow burn romance and this book delivers the most incredible pining and angst between the two characters that you will want to reach into the pages and shake them silly for how they are acting! The ability to draw such emotions from a reader demonstrates the relatability and rawness that Catherine Cowles is able to capture from her words.

I especially appreciated how the characters learned to overcome their own demons and insecurities through the help of both each other and their community of surrounding friends and family, but also by finding their voices themselves. Yes their connection and years of friendship was an excellent foundation for their relationship and it helped them find courage and strength, but at the end of the day they found it for themselves first. We get to witness Maddie overcoming her loss and trauma, while finding her inner strength and Nash realizing his full potential and taking himself more seriously.

Overall, Echoes of You is a captivating, emotional, and uplifting read that will leave you feeling inspired and hopeful with a big smile on your face!
