It is currently 1am and I have finished the book. This is the quickest I’ve ever read! The Rumour is a fantastic book that had me hooked from the first page to the last page. I didn’t expect it to turn out the way it did and that is what made it better. Throughout reading it, I thought of different characters who could be Sally McGowan and it did shock me when it revealed who it really was!

I highly recommend to everyone who loves a thriller with twists.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️An easy 5 stars. Ms. Kara didn't hold back one bit with this debut novel. It has mystery, twists, likeable characters and doesn't let up until the very last page.

I started to become very upset because I kept thinking I knew who Sally McGowan was.... But I was wrong every time. I love being wrong! What's the point in a book if I already know what's going to happen? I read for the enlightenment AND the intrigue!

I can't wait for her next book! Ms. Kara if you are reading this, please send me a copy!!!

Wonderful mystery/ drama, really well written and grabbed my interest from the very beginning, all the way to the surprising end. Shows no matter how innocent you mean a comment to be, it can blow up in your face! I loved the great mysterious characters! I have been so lucky lately with the unique plots in the storylines i have been reading! 4 stars!

Thank you Netgalley the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this story. All opinions are my own.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The Rumour is the debut novel by Lesley Kara and is well worth reading.

A fast paced thriller that will keep you guessing from the first line to the last.

I had no idea going in to this that it would grab me and keep hold to the end.

Will I read again... Yes
Will I recommend... Oh my god yes!
Will I read more by this author... Definitely

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This was a fun thriller/mystery that I didn't take too seriously and therefore enjoyed. It's not very intense nor dark but I quite liked the main character and the whole small town gossip vibe. The twists weren't very shocking or revolutionary but it was a very quick read and exactly what I was in the mood for. Glad I read it but I don't think I'll remember it well in a couple months.

This book was so good! The story centres around a rumour that a child murderer is living in a small town. I could not pick who it was, so it was a shock when it was revealed.
The book itself is a really quick read - this was read in about 2 hours.

I’ve only given this book three stars because the last couple of chapters redeem it ever so slightly. The writing is painfully bad, most of the character arcs go absolutely nowhere but the outcome of the story is eventually a little interesting and the very last section of the book has quite a good twist.
