While I still thoroughly enjoyed this - I didn’t love it quite as much as the first book. It felt a bit like instalove and the pacing felt a little off - I think I would have liked it more as a full novel. But I loved the food network competition aspect. Loved picturing Ginger as Sookie from early GG years. Loved loved loved the ending. Swoon.

Okay... this little novella series is turning out to be a set of sexy Hallmark Christmas movies (in book form) and I am here for it! I don’t usually post two reviews in a day, but it is unavoidable tonight. The only question is if I should stay up late to read the final novella, or save it for tomorrow???

Book two in this holiday mini series features the youngest of the three sisters. The baker competing in a televised Bake-Off. Unfortunately (or not, depending on how you look at it,) one of the other contestants is a well known hottie chef who already has his own tv show. A chef whom she has had a crush on forever. Talk about distraction. Lots of laughs, as you may expect from this author. There isn't much in the form of sexual content, but there is a wee little bit, so it's not a totally clean read. His character is funny and sweet, but not a sappy kind of sweet. Her character is funny, smart but unsure of herself. While she has confidence, there is also some self-doubt there, which causes her to question things.. these questions often bring us the laughter. This is a novella, so it is quicker moving. It's a pretty upbeat and feelgood story. Very light-hearted. While this is a series, each book features a different sister and can each be read as a stand alone.

*I received a ARC of this book.

I am loving these books by Author Jana Aston!
You will totally get into the Christmas spirit with this book.
Ginger & Keller's story was soo much fun to read.
I wanted Gingerbread cookies and soo got into wanting to watch Food Network channel afterwards.
They are such a sexy, competitive set of people that make you want to win the main prize of finding your Sexy Gingerbread Love for life!
Go #oneclick this book!

”Kissing the competition seems dicey, doesn't it? I've never been a dicey girl, either. But I kinda like this new naughty elf version of myself.”
 - If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread

Tropes: Reality TV, Baking Competition, Rivals to Lovers, Instalove
Spice Scale: 🌶🌶🌶

If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread continued with the cozy Christmas vibes and I liked that the timeline overlapped with the first and third books. The baking competition was a fun setting, and I loved the swoony British hero. The story does rely heavily on the insta love trope, which is not one of my favorite tropes. However, it worked and was cute in this book. I think think the fact that the book is a novella helped it. Overall, this was a cute, quick read.
