This is the continuing arc from Dark Lycan and features many of the characters from previous books including Dark Slayer, Dark Predator, Dark Legend, and others.

We meet Skylar in Dark Legend and now in this book she is 19 and trying to rescue Dimitri, her lifemate.

The Lycan conspiracy grows as motives for assassinations become more obvious but the mystery still grows as to who is responsible.

Zev (my favorite by far. September cannot get here fast enough!) makes a stunning reappearance. As his leaders are in jeopardy, he learns that there are treacherous factions within his world, manipulating them toward war.

I enjoyed the book. It was action packed. The mystery is still there for the third book of this specific arc, but there were answers given as well, but those answers just led to more questions.

I can't wait until Dark Blood is released.

Considering how long I waited for this novel in the series I've never been more disappointed. Where once I loved the characters and looked forward to their story-- and all from only a few pages in previous novels-- their characters and plot fell completely flat on all fronts. It got three stars, mostly from left over hope and excitement that I had from before reading the novel.

Though it was well written, there was a great deal of repetition in the story. The same details, given over and over was slightly annoying.
The story, however, was quite enjoyable. I loved the characters and complicated Carpathian and Lycan bloodlines. Great read.

I liked this one the best I think, there was less filler and more story plus a whole lot more humor. The narrators weren't too bad not great and the character voices of the males was a bit of a PITA but I've listened to worse of late.

Was really looking forward to reading this book. Glad that I was finally able to. While it was not one of my fav books in the series it was still good to read. The fact that Skyler loved Dimitri so much to go and rescue him was sweet. The flower part like in in Dark Storm was kinda weird and disturbing.
