Normally I don't like the horror genre, but I was sucked in by Uzumaki. I thought that the author constructed a creepy, sleepy little town well, and that the vignettes continue to get more creepy and creative. Who would've thought that a spiral, of all things, could evoke the same kind of singular horror effect as items like the beating heart and pearl white teeth of Edgar Alan Poe?

If horror mangas are your thing, this one seems pretty good. I read it because my daughter (teen) wanted to talk about it.

Beautiful gore and twisted plot lines. Highly recommended for a novice manga reader.
