Not as much steam as you usually get and that is okay with me. Granted you are probably reading it for the steam, but the story was really well put together. Scarlett finds herself the prize of a gladiator tournament. Akos finds that although he wins, because he refuses to kill, his prize is given to the defeated gladiator and this drives him mad. Though they find themselves drawn to each other, both have set up boundaries that they do not want to cross, even to save their lives.

Akos has been a prisoner for 5 years. He was forced to be a fighter to make his owner money and he does what he needs to in order to survive.Scarlett is kidnapped from Earth and is used as a prize to the winning fighter. Akos only ever cared about surviving but now suddenly cares about this Terran woman.

So cute! Happy to see Akos pull from his shell around Scarlett. Can’t believe the ending! Totally caught me off guard and I LOVED IT!

This one had some nice angst 🤌🏻

Arok, the missing eldest brother, has been forced into slavery and made to preform in gladiator matches for the past 5 years. In that time he has shut down emotionally and given up hope of escaping his fate.

Scarlett has been abducted, bought, and now made a prize in a gladiator death match. (Yikes) She is resourceful and still hopeful of finding a way out of this.

✅ Gladiator/Prize
✅ Forced proximity
✅ Fated mates
✅ Escaping imprisonment
