Good premise, great start and end, boring middle. A more interesting crime would have made the story more compelling

So incredibly slow that I almost didn’t finish. In the end I did enjoy the story though and felt for the characters.

This was… fine, I guess. Maybe I’d just took too long to read it because I don’t understand why the person who did it, did it. But I don’t really “do” crime so it could just be my own stupid fault. The cast of characters (emphasis on the word “characters”) of the old people of Cooper’s Chase are very funny though.

Overall a really enjoyable read with lovely eccentric characters.
But sometimes the story dragged a little and it could have done with one or two plot twists and murders less.
