Was really a nice story. It was short, but really did not feel that way. Beautiful retelling of Romeo and Juliet in a more modern way.

I am in a mood for musicals right now and this one did not stand the test of time. I watched it in grade 7 or 8 so I had a vague memory of it. I found it immature, naive and prejudiced. Maybe that's the point ? A reflect of society at the time...

A modern interpretation of Romeo and Juliet with some new aspects of modern society like gang culture and racism. Characters feel better composed in the novel than in the movie.
