I liked this so much more than I thought I would! Once the time started picking up in the book, I was truly captivated and wanted to know how it ended! I'm excited to read the rest of the series !

 I took my time with this and only extended my grueling stay, felt like I was in the attic suffering with them. I was a prolonged fly on the wall unable to help these poor children but I couldn’t look away either.

definitely engaging due to just how twisted the book is, but i feel all these horrific themes, especially the rape and incest was conflicting, i can’t tell if the author is for or against incest to be honest, and the rape scene was HORRIBLE with the character literally blaming herself as “she could have stopped it.” again it’s engaging though due to how morbid it is.
