this was a cute little novella that any book lover would enjoy. my favorite part was about the book-loving child, because it reminded me so much of myself as a kid that i couldn't help but break out smiling. :-)

Seemed to me a little mean spirited and patronizing, but there were some good insights and interesting conclusions.
I am still very interested in The Diary of a Bookseller and Confessions of a Bookseller  :)

Listened to this on Audible... about 3 hours.

I probably would’ve enjoyed this more if I’d waited a couple months, as I just listened to the first two books. Still fun.

Entertaining enough short read, I'm glad it gave him something to explore during the pandemic even if it wasn't nearly as interesting as his other books.

Author is clearly jaded from life in customer service (as we all are) and I couldn't help but laugh at his dry sense of humour

A short easy read and if you love real secondhand bookshops this is for you ..
and a small disclaimer.. I spent a week in Wigtown and bought many books from his shop .. He is charming , rude , and wonderful and The Bookshop is a treasure.... just curious about how he classified me...

Hilariously brutal and yet oh so true. I love love love this book and all his other ones too. He has the knack and gift to make me belt out with laughter and give me vivid portrayals of customers that I can vividly see in my imagination come to life. We all observe people around us and pass judgements on them, whether it be out of annoyance or how the hell they managed to get out from their house. I have to buy his books as soon as they are mentioned because I know they will brighten me up and make me smile. An absolute comic legend.
