Weinig verrassingen, toch vooral interessant voor de tennisspelende medemens.

While the message is pretty repetitive I found the application to tennis most interesting as I spent much of my childhood in tennis lessons and playing in high school. I am a player controlled by Self 1 and I thinking reading this book back then would have helped me see things differently. So if you’re a tennis player, definitely read!

Great book with some really good techniques for mental performance management in anything. Focus of book is on tennis but easy to extrapolate to other sports

First 20 pages and last 20 pages are 4-5 stars. The other 40 pages largely concerned tennis.

Good advice on not micro-managing performance and letting your body learn naturally. One other takeaway for me was that celebrating wins can be sometimes just as damaging as bemoaning losses. It's better to observe your performance objectively and make necessary adjustments. Since I play tennis I didn't mind the emphasis on the sport, but I think it would have been nice to have had more explicit discussion of how this relates to other fields, especially work that's not inherently physical.
