Stephen King's 'On Writing' still remains my favourite book about the process of writing, but this definitely is now in the top three. It is a kitchen table MFA that totally reflects the authors style and writing philosophy. A highly entertaining read, as well as highly informative. It also made me want to go back and read more of his fiction. Highly accessible and enjoyable.

I’m floored. This book was so full. Every bit of it is great, Chuck’s advice, his stories, his anecdotes. I don’t think it matters if you’re a writer or if you care about Chuck Palahniuk; I still think you’ll fly through this book.

I already know I’ll be rereading parts of this in the days and weeks to come. I’ve never found a sort of referential/proverbial book like this where it really feels like the author gave you their best.

This was not something that I had expected from the author of Fight Club and Choke. I have read a couple of his books and always enjoyed them, but I guess I never...

This book is part memoir and stories of the author's life and part advice and lessons on how to write. The tips on writing are practical and helpful. Generally, I have heard the advice for writing is to write. Just as the advice to learning to draw is to draw. Your pen needs to travel those miles. But, it is beneficial to have directions. I think the author's directions are insightful and worth trying on. Maybe even wearing them for awhile and seeing how they hang or how they may change your writing. The stories from his life and stories of other authors though, these are what I really loved while reading this. The title teases, Moments in My Writing Life After Which Everything Was Different, these are great moments and was glad Palahniuk shared them.
