I tried this bc I’m a big fan of the Hunger Games. This book is all right; Collins definitely has certain themes she likes. I just didn’t have strong feelings either way. I probably would’ve finished the book if Boots weren’t such a big part of it. Little kids are cute. Adult authors writing little kids all cutesy is annoying.

Buh-bye.

Oh man I had a grand time listening to the audiobook for this book. It was so fun and heartwarming. The characters are so cute! I feel like Collins did an excellent job of giving a lot of depth to the characters and giving Gregor interesting personal hardships while still making him feel like he’s 11. Overall just a really great quick read. Totally wish I’d read this when I was little!
Spoiler Especially because it might have helped with my fear of roaches! Tick and Temp are so good 😭😭 I love them.

Read it on the drive to Utah so it is a quick read. Geared for the younger audience (maybe 8-14 age group) but I liked it and think that my kids would like it too. Looking forward to reading the others in the series.

I read this book for a Children’s Lit course in college. It was the first Suzanne Collins book I had read, and I absolutely loved it. I cried at the end, which is not common for me!

I loved this book as a kid. Reading it as a nearly-30 year old, it's still excellent.

I loved this book, although the events in the book are far from cheerful, Gregor's little sister Boots manages to make the book that is happy and full of exciting adventures. I loved the characters because they're very strong and there's some strong character development. I like the setting of the book, because it's something that I had never thought of before reading this book. (This is the first serious review I've ever written, and it's 00:10 here, so my review isn't as good as I wanted it to be, I still hope you liked reading it!)
