“There are some things that can't be changed with words. Some things have to be seen. They have to be felt.”

What a frigging delicious book this is, wow!! Could.not.put.it.down.
Am truly obsessed with Lou & Reid. The haters-to-lovers/enemy-to-lovers romance was sooo well done I think. These two are FIREWORKS, damn. Just loved it *sigh*.

Not everything was as well developed as in comparison to a book that I would rate a 5 star for example, in depth wise regarding some developments, and in general most things happening in the grander scheme of it all were quite predictable. So I think a very SOLID 4 star rating is what I’ll stick with.

Feeling wise there’s just little to say about this book that I didn’t like because I was so utterly hooked from beginning ‘till end. I just thoroughly enjoyed every single second spend reading this book and couldn’t get enough of it. The author’s writing style is super addictive and every time I picked this book up, I just completely lost myself to the outside world. Loved it.

Cannot wait to see what the next installment is like, since I heard quite some mixed things about it. So I’m super curious to find out what I’ll think of it! I’m especially really excited to see how all characters will hopefully developed more and more, because a lot of the minor characters were super interesting as well… And I’m also really excited and curious to see what the political/story line developments are going to be like.

Conclusion

To me this was a really exciting and interesting first book in a new ya fantasy series involving witches. A book that leaves me craving MORE instantly after having finished reading it. A book that was addictive from beginning ‘till end. A book I’d definitely recommend reading if you like ya fantasy, specifically with witches being involved, as well as a wonderfully well developed haters to lovers romance and this all combined with some really engaging and fast-paced writing! A strong debut book if you ask me! Writing wise technically maybe not the most renewed story I've read, and not As strong on every element as I may've liked here and there, but writing wise looking at the author's Style for example; I was quite impressed. The author's way with words was so easy to lose myself in and that made me very happy seeing this is also a debut book!

“I was no one's sacrifice. Not then. Not now. Not ever.”

Po recenzjach spodziewałam się czegoś fajnego i lekkiego, jednakże dostałam marnej jakości opowiadanie wyrwane z wattpada (i to tej gorszej części).

Fun story, really well developed characters. Loved it.

For my friends who don’t like bad language—there is a bit. And one really steamy chapter, which can be easily skipped.

So if I want the sequel to this book now what would I have to sacrifice in order to create that balance? THIS. BOOK. WAS. SO GOOOOOOOOOOOD! JUST OMG I HAVE BEEN HUNG UP ON AURORA RISING AND NOW IM GOING TO BE EMPTY WITHOUT THIS BOOK! so if you like me and you're a sucker for books that have that enemies to eventual lovers this book is perfect. It is to the Inuyasha and Kagome levels of hate each other so much and then be making googoo eyes at each other intensely. I knew this book was going to be a good read since it was also an anticipated read but I love everything. I love the set up and lore of the witches, Lou is freaking hysterical, and the romance is to die for! I literally want to cry when Reid just turns puppy dog asking Lou to never ask him to leave her and that whole 'i'll go where you go' just gives me those Lorcan and Elise vibes which I desperately need! I can't wait fast enough for the sequel of this book and read more about how much Lou and Reid love each other. Just ugh I will probs read it again over the holidays cause it's got that spooky and Christmas winter vibe to it.

I'll be honest, it took me a minute to truly wrap my head around and understand the story. I felt very lost for the first few chapters, very slowly getting a hang of the characters and plot points. However, as I read more and more I did become invested in the characters, intrigued in how two mortal enemies could come together, and I wasn't let down. Toward the end, I loved the relationship. I'll definitely be diving into the next book when it is published.
