Layla and Caleb both literally deserve the world. The fake dating? Immaculate. Them both being simultaneously the kindest humans but super shy around each other? Perfectly done. I really need a man who cares for me and fights for me the way Caleb does by literally putting Layla (rightfully) on a pedestal. They aren't my favorite Lovelight farms couple, but the story was so well done.

A man who can’t help but to fall in love with a woman who’s scared of falling in love like this was everything! This was just the cutest thing ever. The whole time I wanted to knock Layla and Caleb’s head together so they can have finally have some sense. Like these two idiots not realizing they were perfect for each other was pissing me off severely. It was all worth it in the end. Just the cutest!

I wanted to love this book so badly. I love the cast of characters at Lovelight farms and I want to move to Inglewild like yesterday, so I was primed to love this one. But unfortunately so much of this book did not feel in character with the Layla we came to know and love. Also, there is mention of her family but then that is never really explored. I love Caleb and his family but the conflict in this book felt very contrived. I just don’t believe his brother and friend wouldn’t want him to explore a relationship with Layla after so long of crushing on her. I also found the whole contrivance of the “deal” or whatever to be nonsensical. Total bummer because I still loved the characters but this one wasn’t great.
