I have two guesses about who A is at this point. That clue at the end really narrowed it down. We'll see though! I like how these books switch among the four friends. I just can't believe how cruel these parents are! Geez. Moving on..

What was that ending????

I'm so confused.

Ok so book two. Ali's body has been found, the funeral held, and A has made the first move. While the four girls still aren't what you would call friends, they are finding themselves thrown back together as they try to figure out just who A is.

I will say, all of these girls are kind of horrible and self-centered. They just really aren't likable characters. That being said, they are LOADS better than the horrible parents that plague this series. Racism, favoritism, bullying, fat shaming, plain ignoring their child. It's just horrible.

We get to learn more about each girl here and just what secrets they were keeping with Ali. I am liking getting to know them, even if I don't really like them (does that make sense lol). I'm still comparing it to the tv show which hopefully that will change as the books continue because they are so different.

SpoilerI mean Toby freaking killed himself!

Aria and Spencer are so far my faves. I feel bad for Aria and I like Spencer's adult attitude (even though she makes stupid ass mistakes). I can't stand Emily - she's very whiny and wishy washy. And Hanna is just a straight bitch who likes to rub her misery off on other people because she's unhappy.

Anyway, after that crazy ending, I'm off to the next one.

I am a grown woman who has read and appreciated many “quality” works of literature, and let me tell you, this is not one of them. But. I. Can’t. Look. Away. So much about this series is over the top ridiculous, but I love it. If you ever need a light, fun read, suspend your disbelief about what high school kids could realistically get into, and pick up this series.

I started this book on the train and almost finished it the same day, because it managed to hold my attention during the whole 4 hours of being on the train. I'm not quite sure why I like this series but I think it has to do with the secrets that are hinted at all the time and later revealed and that the girls (obviously) have a life style very different to my own, one that I wouldn't enjoy but apparently enjoy reading about.

This is my new guilty pleasure. I can't get enough of the chaos that Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer are embroiled in. It's a little repetitive and rehashes lots of the moments and tension of the first book, but some new juicy secrets are revealed. Fun and thrilling.

I really like these, they're small and easy to read, while this says it took a few days, I spread it over the week while reading others. You could easily finish it in a night if you were an avid reader. I'm glad the show and the books aren't exactly the same, it's kept me guessing who A is. I also like the extra at the end from The actual A. It's like they're telling the whole story
