I absolutely loved this. I love apocalypse stories, and I really love Paul Tremblay's writing. This was a beautiful, fast paced book, and I loved it.

From the few Tremblay works I’ve read, one thing is clear: this evil, evil man loves nothing more than to write the most intimate, dreamlike, and devastating depictions of loss imaginable. Survivor Song’s characters feel so real you could touch them, making it all the more easy to cry and hope against hope for them. Pair that with some of the most visceral gore I’ve ever read? I will never be the same.

Hooked into this after reading the beginning excerpt in A Cabin at the End of the World. It was a fun take on the zombie tale, trying to lean more into the realism version while still holding onto the horror, which was well balanced.
