This is the first time I've really wanted to rate something 3.5 stars. I found this through a booktok recommendation for people who loved The Witcher and spicy books (and specifically wanted more spice from ACOTAR haha). I was not expecting a combination of post-apocalyptic fantasy with time travel and fae. But it somehow all worked pretty well and I was hooked. There were parts that the chemistry seemed to die between the two MCs, the villain is kind of abstract/unbelievable - hoping that gets better in the next books - and there is A LOT happening in this plot but I'll keep reading the series to see where it goes.
Spoiler I'm still rolling my eyes over the beginning action scene when she ends up landing on the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. That a.) felt very forced and b.) thousands of years later and she just happens to land directly on a sign telling her where she is? Nope.

why did we never tell anyone in power about the nuclear bomb? I feel like she had plenty of time.

I don't know why but I couldn't get into this book on reread.  The world was really convoluted and at times it felt like an acotar wannabe

This honestly reminds me a lot of Nora Roberts fantasy/magical realism books. It’s a fun time when you read it but nothing that will usually be memorable. I think the concept of a dystopian world getting taken over by fae is pretty cool and I enjoy the different types. I’m intrigued enough to probably continue on.

Let’s start off, I definitely feel this has Witcher vibes but is nothing compared to the books or games. Kinda seems inspired more so by the show. Either way I did like it but definitely disappointed by the comparison since I’ve read the Witcher books and played the games (also watched the show but that’s a different story at this point).

I loved the writing and the world building. The setting was unique, a post-apocalypse fantasy story.

My main complaint (spoilers) is Rush’s curse. It was setup in the beginning that Rush’s curse affected anything he touched which is why he tied Clarke up. So there are a few events where this suddenly doesn’t work which kinda breaks the story but it’s an oversight which still works for the story at the end.

There also is only two smutty scenes that a detailed enough for my liking. The rest of any intimate interaction kinda just fades to black or becomes implied.

This is my second read of this story, first time with the actual book. I love the relationship between Rush and Clarke. Their mating is so perfect. I also loved reading this knowing where the story goes, s must read for fantasy romance lovers!
