3.5 stars. I didn’t like as much as the rest of the series, but the ending was so good and I still very much enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this series. I loved the characters and how we really got to know them throughout the years. I thought there was a little too much personal life and not enough of the actual case they were working. It was a little slow, but it kept my attention. I thought that the ending was perfect and tied it all together- it definitely made me cry.

this has been such an interesting series to read. i didn’t know The Butterfly Garden would lead me to one of my favorite and thought provoking series. out of 4 books, two were the most haunting and plot driven while the other two were more character driven and not as nightmare-ish.

The Vanishing Season was more character driven, it felt as though the plot was lacking and rushed. comparing to the previous 3 books, the case of the missing blonde hair and blue-eyed girls was glossed over, the details not explained and just briefly dusted in. this one felt a lot shorter, there was a romance between two agents, but even then it was pretty brief. we were given some flashbacks that weren’t entirely necessary. it was my least favorite despite how interesting it was to see the whole crew get together and interact frequently.

a loose end was tied up and finally healed some gaping wounds, it didn’t feel as big as it should’ve been. like it was a big deal but it seemed so minimal.

other than all that, i really enjoyed this series and hoped it wouldn’t end just yet. i was hoping to see another one in progress or something, this series is so addicting!

What a shitty ending to this series. This one spent too much time on the ~*quirky*~ FBI team dynamics instead of the actual crimes going on! It's completely different in tone and voice to the other books, and it felt like more of a relationship drama about Eliza and Brandon.

It honestly felt like badly written fanfiction and I was not here for it.
