Powerful novel in verse about gun violence. Will, a teen set on revenge after his brother's shooting death, gets on the elevator with a gun and has a ride down full of ghosts and smoke. You coming? Ends the book. So much death and tragedy in Will's life already.  Will he join the ghosts? Simply an amazing book!

I had a lump in my throat for damn near the whole last half of the book, scared what Will would choose to do, and I'm happy if not a bit unsatisfied with the ending. As much as I would have liked a more firm resolution, I really like that it's left for the reader to question and reflect. I also like how on every floor the new person built upon the rest of their story to talk about the endless cycle of revenge and it really made for a complete story.

I loved this book and I really like jason renalds books and this is probably my favorite!
The ending is very confusing but overall the book was an amazing read.
