I got this because it was an inexpensive Book Riot deal. It's a mashup of my favorite things- profiler-style protag, clever and interestingly motivated 'bad guy' who in this case happens to be a young woman. The cat and mouse component is really well done and the fact that all the gray area is part of the story (and has consequences) is really interesting. Solid if you want a new crime series. I'm picking up the 3rd book imminently.

Why do I read books before the series is finished!?!? Now I have to wait to find out more!

With these books I really think you have to read them in order. Starting with this one rather than [b:Huntress Moon|23957469|Huntress Moon (The Huntress/FBI Thrillers Book 1)|Alexandra Sokoloff|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1422707926s/23957469.jpg|21437405] would make you miss so much of what's going on that I can't imagine liking the story as much.

May contain spoilers from book one:

The book picks up shortly after the first book drops off. Cara is gone and Special Agent Roarke with the help of his team are bringing down some of the bad guys that she wormed out. Roarke knows he has to arrest Cara when she is found but he is conflicted. This could have gone all moody with Roarke mooning away after a beautiful woman, but the author gives you enough that you really don't want her caught either. The tension that is felt is beyond sexual attraction. It's hard to explain exactly why these books work so well, but they do.

Vigilante or not, Cara is a strong character. I do wish the books would give us even more of her. The trauma of her life is just unbelievable. She has nothing or no one-and hasn't since her family was murdered.

I said in the first book that fans of Criminal Minds will enjoy these books and this one was even better than the first one. Roarke brings in his old mentor from the BAU and the behavior behind "the Reaper" is fascinating to read as in unfolds.

I'm curious to how the author is going to wrap up the story-line. Will Cara go free? There are so many ways this story could go......

Nice work. The ending held up, it came together nicely. There's more to come but she got the big bits out of the way. I'll be sure to read the next one when it comes out.

Wow this was a great book. I read the first book by Alexandra, Huntress Moon, and I was hooked on this series. I loved this book just as much and didn't want to put it down. I have a real soft spot for serial killer books that are so good you can't put them down, I want the author to keep writing more like this one. I, so far, very much love this series and the author. I am now a big fan! * I received this book form the author in exchange for an honest review*

3.5 stars, not quite as good as most 4 star books, to me.

This was an interesting book, and I enjoyed it, but I think my interest is waning from the first book. There's a bit too much supernatural aspects going on for me. This would be OK in a pure fantasy book, but this book seems too real to have unexplained aspects; once you allow that, anything can happen without explanation.

For example, how does The Huntress know the things she knows? It seems like she just knows things that she shouldn't, and even the FBI experts defer to her knowledge, while hunting her down to arrest her. How does she manage to appear and disappear from under their noses? It's interesting, but a little hard to believe so far. Maybe I need to read more from the series to find out, and I may.

In this book, there are two people being hunted down by the FBI, which keeps things exciting, even though it's not very believable. If this doesn't bother you, you might enjoy the books.

Blood Moon is the second in The Huntress/FBI Thriller series. As the author does go quite in to detail reminding us of what has happened previously I think this can easily be read as a stand alone but personally as it is a good book and I like to read books in order I would recommend reading Huntress Moon first.

I seem to be seeing a bit of a trend in this authors books, as in the story starts off steady then the pace starts to quicken the nearer you get to the end until it literally has you sitting on the edge of your seat.

In Blood Moon, Special Agent Matthew Roarke is still trying to hunt down Cara The Huntress, Not only does he have his work cut out trying to find her but an evil character from Cara's past rears his ugly head and soon murders are taking place similar to what happened to Cara and her family. It soon becomes a race against time for Matthew to capture and arrest this evil criminal before Cara takes the law yet again into her own hands.

Yet again Alexandra has written a well thought out plot with believable characters that has the readers interested right from the start.

Due to the ending of Blood Moon I will be very interested to see what the future holds for Cara.

Many thanks to Thomas & Mercer and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
