Se lit très vite et c’est une belle histoire de débrouillardise et d’amour dans laquelle la dame refuse de s’embêter à vivre avec un homme. Chacun chez soi, on vit mieux comme ca ! On y apprend comme la politique en matière d’héritage était curieuse et injuste en Suède au XIXe siècle ;

10/10, och dessutom gick Sara rätt in i hjärtat.

Again, I read it to improve my Swedish. It was a pleasant read, regardless of the more archaic language.

It was pretty interesting, however, not easily understood. Since it was written in 1839, the language it very different from today's swedish. I enjoyed Sara Videbeck and her ideas especially in contrast to the (then) society's view. It was okay, but I did enjoy it's message. Not a page-turner, yet, a classic, worth while!

Det går an is a Swedish classic dealing with the topics of Christianity versus greed, the inequality between sexes and, quite surprisingly, anti-monogamy. The language takes a while to get used to, but the story itself is entertaining and interesting enough to keep pushing forward. Loved the essay at the end where the author debates "educational fiction" with his friends.
