Ich hatte eine leichte Romcom erwartet, aber es geht um sehr schwere Themen (Mobbing, bipolare Störung, Tod durch Krebs und Trauer). Grundsätzlich mag ich Bücher, die auch schwerere Themen behandeln. Aber zum einen will ich grad echt kein Buch über Krebs und den Tod eines geliebten Menschen durch Krebs lesen und zum anderen gefällt mir auch die Art der Umsetzung nicht. Es gibt irgendwie nur Schwere (man kann Bücher über Krebs auch anders schreiben, siehe „Das Schicksal ist ein mieser Verräter“). Plus, mir ist die Protagonistin unsympathisch. Das macht sehr viel aus. Dieses Buch gibt mir also nichts, sondern zieht mich nur runter und das brauche ich einfach nicht.

 makes you think, doesn't it? (not really) i guess this was cute. my eyes have been glues to the pages the last couple of days, so it couldn't have been bad. i'm uncertain. i liked it, i like the shared love for books, i liked the friendships each of them had, i just didn't really like them. i read that some people really disliked erin - and i see why that happens - but to me james was even worse. every time i think a situation will have a bad ending, they ended up making it 10000x worse in ways i couldn't even imagine. at some point i literally gasped out loud after james dropped another bomb

I really loved this book! The way these two childhood friends turned enemies got back in touch as anonymous pen pals to help each other through some really horrible times was so beautiful. Destiny and a love of reading just brings them back together when they need each other most.
