This was a great second book! We get some revelations, a nicely done plot, and a rather devastating ending. I'm really looking forward to reading book three after this awesomeness of the first two books! I really like Dania, Samuel, Evie, Vas, and the rest of the cast, and I'm enjoying each book as well as the overarching storylines. 4.5 stars.

4.5 again. Man, Samael is pretty dumb for a demon, but then again... what does he know about humans. And tbf, Danica never tells him anything because why would we have communication? Talk about feelings? In a relationship??? Pfft. Anyway I still enjoyed this book, though I wish she would just TELL HIM HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT CONTROL, but whatever. Next book should be interesting.

I'm getting tired of the dynamic between Samael and Danica. They're both acting like angsty teenagers, and half of their issues could be resolved by just talking; instead, they are both engaging in immature and toxic behaviors. I know that this conflict is a focal-point of the story, but I feel like it's the easy way out. I wish the sub-plots were better developed, because there is potential for a far more interesting story going down that route, than this "will they, won't they" dance. Mediocre writing (check out her "Kingdom of Lies" series instead), but still okay as a palate-cleanser between other series.

Oh this series is giving me everything I need right now! Some CC1 with a splash of Ruthless Boys and its own personal brand of exciting! I really also enjoy that the books aren’t super long so it’s always action packed in a way!

Samael is definitely making the Book Boyfriend list if he keeps developing like this, he’s got that lil Rhys like vibes I can’t resist 🖤

On to book 3 💣
