The premise was good, and I loved the descriptions of the island, but the Tox could’ve been built better, and the ending felt very rushed and SUPER unfinished, it just drops off as if there’s an intended sequel despite it being a standalone novel. Additionally, the characters felt very flat, with the main character’s only discernible trait being that she loves her friends.

Because I think I'd been looking for it all my life - storm in my body to match the one in my head.

I don't know about this book. I liked the idea of it, I was sooo ready to read it as soon as I bought it because the concept fascinated me so much. I had a hard time getting into the book because the actual plot started at around 30 pages in, which was kinda exhausting already. On the other hand, it was more than easy to read this. The style of writing was very fluent and the 30 pages went by like nothing. The plot was very good, I liked the crossover between a horror / crime story and a love story and I was very hooked once it got interesting.
Now some of you may wonder why the book only received 2 (2.5 stars to be exact). The ending. Usually, I don't mind open endings. But I did not like this ending at all. In the end, I had more questions than I had before. And IDK if there is a second part. So, it's readable, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it.

Had a little bit of a slow start, but loved the story, the characters and the sapphic romance. I just found the ending very lacking. It was so abrupt it made me think I got a misprint and a few chapters were missing? Here's to hoping there's gonna be a sequel to answer all my left over questions 🤞🏻

It should not take me this long to read this book because I didn't want to finish reading it.
The writing and description is something i did not like. So much description with no explanation and nothing that happens. skimmed through the second half of the book and read only the dialogue to finish it. So many potholes and missing explanation. Was it because I skimmed through it? Probably, don't care.

Horror isn't quite my genre, but I think those who do enjoy it would really enjoy this book. I found this to be an absorbing mystery and I enjoyed the pace.
