"The noise repeated, beckoning her to locate it.
Then she saw it.
Huddled in the gnarled rod was a tiny filthy puppy, soaking wet and trembling. When they locked eyes the puppy you a tentative step toward her and rolled onto it's side into the mud."

"Elizabeth closed her eyes and realized she didn't need mantras and breathing exercises to feel calm in Hargrove. The weight of her puppy in her lap, the scent of wildflowers on the breeze, and the pebbles pressing into her palm like shiatsu kept her in the moment more effectively than any guided meditation she'd done."

" 'Life here is made up of the beautiful unexpected, you know? Like when a stranger walks into a shop and becomes a dear friend. Like when you pick up a paintbrush and capture the soul of a creature. I think you'll always carry a bit of Fargrove magic with you from this point in. You're one of us. You always have been.' "

Who Rescued Who is about a busy, city girl with no understanding of animals who, after losing her father & then her job that was her whole life, is invited to a faraway farm in a small England town by an aunt & uncle she didn't know existed. After arriving she becomes closer to her long lost relatives, makes friends, finds a puppy, learns about small town life, falls in love, finds new hobbies & finds herself in the process.Â
My first Victoria Schade book, "Dog Friendly," I read last year & loved. Since then I've been slowly getting her other books. I actually think I loved Who Rescued Who even more than DF. Maybe the small town theme with very seldom access to WiFi/social media, all the art/painting, or getting out of corporate & 80hr workweeks & finding herself.
It's such a beautiful story. Low steam, but lots of love (for friends, family, dogs/animals, & a handsome man). I highly recommend this book but especially for dog/ animal lovers & artists.Â

This book is as cute as the cover. Elizabeth just lost her job. She gets a call from someone who claims to be her uncle. He asks her to come to the UK to check out some property she apparently owns. She decides go investigate. I think it's cute how she rescues a puppy. There are lots of nice characters and I like how they interact. This book is not just about finding love, but also about family. It's a fun and charming quick read.

Such a cute and delightful read. Problems were solved a little easily and at times a little stereotypical, but overall the animals and the setting made up for it.

3.75 stars.
Cute albeit predictable. Probably a story that most readers need right now. A comfort read and one that reminds us to put our phones down. Bess lives her life through the gram. It’s her life-line until it isn’t anymore. Finding connections with family, new friends and even cute dogs in a small town, she soon realizes what exactly she’s been missing.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something sweet.

First, shouldn't it be 'Who Rescued Whom'?
I love a main character I wanna slap halfway through a good story.
And dogs.
A delightful, entertaining, warming read.
