I absolutely flew through this book....and I'm not a fast reader. So creepy, and the illustrations (the "drawings" from the little boy in the story) were frightening. Stephen King loved this book....and I did too!

It was ok. I liked how the photos told a story and the premise. Extra star for telling the story creatively.

But then the ending got weird and a little too preachy, odd commentary, and I just couldn’t take it seriously around the 90% mark or so. Caroline just turned into a cartoonishly over dramatic villain that just…. Admitted everything in some soliloquy? Just got so weird and drawn out and unenjoyable. The last pic was cute though.

Overall, meh.

All. The. Freaking. Stars.

HOLY. COW.

I think I may do my full review for this one on my bookstagram (@chandlersbooknook) TOMORROW because I could not have loved this book more. It is definitely on my list of all-time favorites now.

A thriller/horror that also… made me… CRY?! Wtf.

This was just too good. READ THIS BOOK.

I read the kindle version of this book, as well as listened to the audiobook version of this book. Both were nicely done. I really enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook! Because the book has pictures in it, drawings done by Teddy, the audio version describes the drawings with fairly good detail. I would still recommend getting the print or kindle version of the book to see the pictures for yourself. I think the pictures were great in the kindle version and they really added to and enhanced the story. Really ratcheted it up the creep factor and ambiance.

It was a quick and compulsory read. Hard to put down because you were trying to figure out what happened. A few twists to keep you guessing and an ending that I certainly didn't expect, but definitely enjoyed. Not too scary, but very eerie, especially some of the drawings.
