This is not a mystery/horror book. This is a book about loss, grief, longing and acceptance; especially the loss that never let go. A slow burn. The ending made me cry. Beautiful writing with a solid narration.

This is the best book I have read in quite a while. I have always enjoyed Ronald Malfi’s work but this is on a whole new level of brilliant.

I don’t want to spoil one single word of this one but I’d give it my highest recommendation.

Don’t. Open. The. Door.

I’m not sure if I could find a bad thing about this book if I read it 100 times. Come with me is absolutely fantastic, and I could not put it down. I would’ve finished it easily in one or two sittings if my work schedule was not so crazy.

This book is extremely fast paced, makes you think you know the answer multiple times just to be proven wrong over and over again. It’s creepy, sad, uplifting, and extremely easy to read.

If want a the “best of both worlds” in horror and thriller, this is it.

Groan. Even though I was totally hooked by this novel and was reading at warp speed, I knew the ending would be crap. It was like a Scooby Doo episode with the villain prattling away in generic fashion. And don’t get me started on the “twist” at the end. Double groan.

I might try another book of his at some point and hope for a better ending, but I’m skeptical.
