A good finale to the trilogy, though not as satisfying as I'd wanted. I do hope for more.

This was a fun ending for this series. I really enjoyed the characters and all of the adventures.

I read(audio) this trilogy, all three books, book to back. I honestly can't remember where book 2 ended and book 3 began. It all just blended together in my mind. Maybe I should have stopped and written my reviews immediately ... alas, I didn't.

I liked this series, but didn't love it. I was quite intrigued with the first book, but then it dragged a bit. At the end, I was listening to the audiobook while I was a bit distracted (at my son's basketball game, which I do all the time, as really I'm just watching it and can listen to my book too). I finished up the book and then was like "um, what happened?" I couldn't really remember. Luckily my library had a Kindle edition available too, so I quickly downloaded it and skimmed the last few chapters just to cement the story a bit for me.

I've noticed there are "bitty books" between these main ones. I didn't read any of them and didn't feel like I missed out on anything. Not really interested enough to seek them out. This was one series while I don't regret reading it, I was a bit relieved when I finished and could just be done and move on.

I generally can't be bothered writing a full review and this is no exception. I just wanted to say that I got far too excited when I realised this series was based in the same world and the "Women of the Otherworld" series which I adore. Ah small pleasures...

This was my favorite, but I really feel that the ending could have wrapped up better. It seems like there should be another installment.
The book was a great action packed adventure!

The troubled teens are still on the run from the sinister Edison Group; Chloe’s necromancy skills are getting stronger and stronger, Tori is able to perform magic that witches many times her age can’t achieve without incantations and Derek’s changes are getting more intense and more frequent. Add her romantic entanglement with both Simon AND Derek – things couldn’t get much more complicated for Chloe Saunders.

After holding up at a safe house but not feeling all that safe at the moment, Chloe has to cope with an evil teenage ghost haunting the house and a necromancer mentor who doesn’t believe Chloe’s skills. Along with the threat of the Edison Group hanging over them, the teens grow more and more suspicious of anyone and everyone until… at last – one way or another – they get to the bottom of the Lyle House mystery…

I’m always anxious when I get to the last book in a series/trilogy that I’m enjoying. I want to know just how it’s going to end but at the same time I don’t want to have to leave the characters.

Chloe has grown so much since the first book. Her powers are developing experientially and she’s come a long way from the stuttering fearful girl into the woman who overcomes her fears when it comes to protecting the ones she loves.

The other characters are great in their own ways too – I’m not sure after the first book I ever thought I could like Tori but she’s grown on me and I’m glad that the others accepted her into their merry crew of adolescent misfits.

I loved the amount of action that occurs throughout this book. There’s evil angry ghosts, get away plans, werewolves and so much more. This was a fantastic instalment in the trilogy however – I didn’t love the ending. Or rather, I didn’t like that the trilogy was ending. There’s so much more I want to know. But I did love how all the drama came to climax and the resulting resolution was fitting to the series.

Kelley is one of my all time favourite authors and I really don’t think she can put out a bad piece of work. I was buddy reading this with two girls from bookstagram (we read one of Kelley’s books every month) and I forgot just how much I loved this series. Derek is truly my love, and I just want my own cute werewolf. I also forgot just how much Tori can grow on you! She’s such a fantastic addition to this series! Overall, I’m a huge fan!

First of all, I’m so sad that it’s over. It felt like I was a part of their lives and I love this trilogy so much. I feel like there could’ve been 1 or even 2 more books after this one about all of them and I’m so sad that there isn’t.

I have never read any books as fast as I read the three of these. I finished this one in two days. I couldn’t put it down.

——————————SPOILERS START——————————

Okay, so I just have to say everything that I loved and what I wish could be in the fourth book if there was one.

If there was a fourth book:
1. We could figure out where Rae is and meet up with her and her mom.
2. We could follow them while they’re still in hiding and on the run. We could read about them going to the other kids and see them learn about their powers.
3. Kit could tell Tori and the boys that Tori is his daughter. I would love to see them become more sibling-like and protective of Tori as they became better friends over time.
4. The Pack could be in the book somehow. Whether we get to see Derek learn more about being a werewolf or whether we find out who is biological parents are or even learn if there are other modified werewolves like Derek.
5. I want to see more if Derek and Chloe’s relationship sooooo bad. I love the so much and I get butterflies every time I read about them.
6. I want to know what happens with Chloe’s dad. Will he get to learn about their powers? What will she tell him about running away?
7. We could learn about the other experiments and meet the people from those ones.
8. We could see Chloe send the note to that dead guys wife. I would love to know what happens with that.

There are so many more things I wish I could read about in another book.

Now for the things I loved:
1. Oh my. When Derek fist pulls Chloe onto his lap and they read from andrews computer. Oh my goodness gracious. I got so many butterflies. I wish that I could be Chloe hahaha.
2. I loved the found family aspect of the book. Like even though Tori had a sucky family and even though the others didn’t always get along with her, Tori and Chloe end up becoming almost like sister. They watch out for each other and they’re even nice to each other most of the time. The whole found family aspect is amazing to see and there are so many examples of it.
3. I love how Kelley Armstrong wrote these books. They’re so fast paced and I couldn’t put any of them down. My husband had to make me stop reading so that I would go to bed or eat and stuff like that hahaha. I was so invested.
4. Watching the development of Chloe’s and Derek’s relationship was the best. Throughout all of the books. I love how protective he is of her. I love how he gets so gentle with her. I love how he laughs way more often when it’s just the two of them. Everything about them is so cute. I seriously can’t get enough.
5. I loved learning that the whole thing was even bigger than it seemed. It wasn’t just some simple matter of “this one guy wanted to know what would happen so he decided to genetically modify us”. I thinks it’s cool that there s as re more experiments than just Genesis 2. I think it makes it more mysterious.
6. I love that there are so many supernatural powers in this trilogy. It’s not just werewolves and vampires. It’s not just witches and wizards. It is literally everything you could think of pretty much. It’s so cool.
