This is a fun little companion to the Sookie Stackhouse books. I enjoyed the short story and meeting Sam's family, but I could have done without the in depth timeline. The cookbook at the end was a nice touch, and I can't wait to make the Wicked Peach Cake.

I enjoyed the novella but a lot of the extras were super repetitive.

I was so excited when I found this book on my PX (which never ever has what I want). I can't really review review it because this book is what it says it is, a companion. There is a story in the book though, Small Town Wedding, that brings back one of my favorite characters, Quinn. So...I loved the story, obviously for that reason. I was so happy how that one turned out for him. It's a short story so I can't give much detail, you will have to read it to find out.

There are all kinds of cool things going on in this book though. A short recap of all the books in the series as well as a list of Sookieverse novellas. There is trivia, recipes sent in by readers, FAQ section, and character information. I loved reading all the little tidbits about Sookie's world. If you are in love with the Sookieverse you definitely need to have this book.

One of the better companions.

I liked the short story of Sookie going to Sam's brother's wedding - and it explained the random call from Quinn in Deadlocked. The synopsis would be helpful if you didn't want to read the whole series again before the last book comes out next year., and it included some phone and email conversations between Bill and Eric that I found entertaining. I thought the addition of the Bon Temps recipes was pretty cute and I might actually try to make some of them one day just for fun. Entertaining book but not a necessity - maybe check it out from your local library.

Half the book was amazing with the new novella and interviews with both Charlaine Harris and Alan Ball. The other half was the reselling of EVERY Sookie book in the series, kinda pointless really. The dictionary of all things Bon Temps was quite good but I didn't read through it all, just read the bi on my fav characters aka Eric Northman and Claude Crane ;) Definitely one for the fans to add to their collection.

This was better than most of the full length novels have been, partly because it focused on a single event and things flowed well. The letters and phone calls between Eric and Bill were amusing as well.

I enjoyed the novella at the start and this book is a great reference if you've forgotten what happened along the way, or to bring yourself up to speed before reading a new installment, but it's not a necessity to buy or read this. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the recipes, which were an interesting addition to the book.

Be aware that a great deal of this book is reference only and, bar the novella and a few interviews, there is little new to be gleaned from it.

It is what it says - a nice companion book for the series. It has a summary of all the books up to "Dead Reckoning", with very funny snippets of "the secret conversations of Bill and Eric." There's a list of what order all the books and stories should be read in. I also really liked the recipes included. Best of all was the novelette which tells the story of Sookie going with Sam to his brother's wedding. If you've read the books, this is a nice addition.
