Skillful writing and deft interweaving of multiple narratives across time. The initial chapters set in the past drew me in, then the time travel mystery kept me going, although I wish there’d been more development of Gaspery’s character and
Spoiler the Time Institute / what it studied.

I read this too quickly.

It's like a croissant of a story all layers folding in on themselves.

The language St John Mandel uses is so very beautiful. This made me feel like I was reading prose and literature with capital Ps and Ls.
