Tamira and Fenix

This story really surprised me. Reading that Fen is the King of a pleasure planet, I had certain expectations of the book. What I found was even better. There is so much depth and feeling to this story. Don't worry, it's still got the spice!

Content/Trigger Warnings/Enticements:  Found on her website, link at the beginning of the book.  Pregnancy. Dark family secrets (past).

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my voluntary, honest review.

“If you meant to change my mind about taking you to a healer for an implant, you are doing a good job of it. I think I’d rather stay here and put a greenling in you. Make our little ruse into the truth. Alioth save me, I have lost all control around you. It’s lucky I’ve never had good sense because that would be gone, too.”

Our Jara, Fen, is a bit of a playboy at all times.  He likes the pleasure, doesn’t ike fighting his brothers, he’s a lover not a fighter.  Enter Tamira, or Tama, who is hiding out in his palace and getting fed treats from his fingertips, because if you are going to be on a pleasure planet, getting hand fed by the king of said planet is pretty high up on the ticket of winning at life. Meanwhile, they’re trying to find the remaining Terrakin woman, while Tama tries to keep a secret.

I was SO EXCITED WHEN THIS CAME THROUGH ON MY EMAIL. Okay y’all, I think I might have signed up on SIH’s ARC form twice just to make sure I arrived. I was NOT disappointed. I loved Tama, I loved her story, and I found her easy to relate to. I loved Fen, and his masking, though both their back story’s are devastating, OMG. And then they meet, and they fit together so well, and so sweetly.  There’s a masterful blend of resistance and coming together, because they’ve both been hurt, and they both have to grow, and it comes naturally, in spurts and rainbows.

Also, I really have to say that I loved the fact that Fen, as the Jara of a pleasure planet, took pleasure from everyone, regardless of gender. I also love how he was still very monogamous once he was with his partner, even in the past, and even with being very open to different sexual experiences. Loved it.  I want to curl up in his whole universe and stay here.

Another amazing addition to the Warrior Kings of Alioth. This one just came out and already I’m nibbling on my kindle like that will bring books five and six faster. LOL.
