I read it in a day....just enough twists to have me rapidly turning pages!

I listened to this book on audio. It was so engrossing there were times I sat in my car after reaching my destination just to keep listening. I love Karen White. She is such a storyteller. Layer by layer all eventually unfolds. Her characters are very real and human. I loved the characters in this book. All of them. The stories told by the three different Walker women were compelling. I honestly can say I didn't want this book to end.

I enjoyed this book, but the ending was very predictable.

I had a hard time warming up to Vivien at the beginning, but was won over by the story by the crumbs and clues and hints of the past in especially Adelaide’s story. I love complex and interconnected stories like this that reveal pieces of the past perfectly in pace with pieces of the present.

It took a little while to get into the story, but the second half of the book was outstanding - well worth it!

I enjoyed this book. It took me a bit to get into it only because with each chapter you read from a different generation of the family and having 4 children of my own it kept me off kilter. Once I did get into it it totally sucked me in and I didn't want to put it down. I would recommend this to my friends definitely!

3 stories of 3 generation of women in a family, each told in it's own time, in it's own chapters....I've read books that were comprised of more than one story being told at once before, and this one did not disappoint....It was clear which storyline was going to be addressed in each chapter and each one seemed to leave you eager to get to the next chapter in that story. But like a summer southern afternoon making you languidly turn each page and want to savor every single of one of them.....for as much as the suspense was building in each story, you wanted to enjoy every sip along the way.
