Wonderfully written with a strong voice. The beautiful and complex characters and the terrible yet real world that they inhabit left me with too many feelings to list. I feel as though I could read a hundred more books from this character and never grow tired of it.

I’m saying this because I didn’t see any reviews really that mention how religious this book is, and had I known, I likely would have skipped it. It’s a faith journey, and as an atheist, it was all too much for me. The ending was also a little too neat and tidy. Honestly, I’m pretty surprised at how high the average rating is. It was really disappointing.

Beautiful characters, setting, and story. I would have read another 450 pages in hopes that it didn’t end. I couldn’t put it down.
