I love The Beatles and I was very interested in a children's book about them.
This book is the story of The Beatles and how they came to find success.
It is great for children who are interested in music or parents who want to share something they love. I loved the bright art style that was inspired by the Yellow Submarine era of the band. The main bulk of the book is a simple story of friends getting together to play music and would be accessible across many age groups. The back of the book includes more detail for those kids who have further questions. I like that the book could grow with a child, reading the simple story when they were younger and then there still being the more detailed story in the back for them to discover later on.
It does gloss over a lot of things that surrounded The Beatles at the height of their success. I was slightly concerned about the themes that might have appeared in this book but there isn't anything inappropriate mentioned. You can feel secure giving this book to a young child.
I was sent a copy of We Are The Beatles for review by the publisher.

Love this book about the Beatles history. It is a concise and interesting narrative that will capture children's interest in the group. Children will be encouraged to know that sometimes the band members were nervous before going on stage. It humanizes the members, and lets kids know that their own fears are normal. I also like that the hard work in learning guitar and practicing is addressed. Great kids read.

We Are the Beatles is a fun, little picture book all about the famous British band.

I think this is a great, little read with goofy pictures to introduce young readers to the Beatles. It is definitely not the be all, end all of biographies, but it's a great start! It's colourful (which seems fitting, if you've seen some of their music videos and covers), and has a small introduction to the entire band.

This is an excellent, picture book resource for some information about The Beatles.

Three out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

As a look at The Beatles, this book does a decent job of capturing the spirit of the band for the intended audience, 4-7 year old kids. As a book on the power of friendship, it does better, using the relationship of the four Beatles to show how friends rely on each other, boost each other up, balance each other's personalities, and provide camaraderie for each other. While the facts presented about The Beatles are sometimes not exactly right or leave out nuances, the lessons of friendship are good. The artwork, though- loved it! Super groovy!

They were before my time, but I love the Beatles so this little book is just perfect for me. It's a cute story about how they met and became one of the best and most famous bands ever. The bright pictures are lovely and fit the story very well.

Living in Liverpool, it’s hard to not be aware of the cultural significance of The Beatles. We have statues of them, statues of characters they sang about and themed Magical Mystery Tour buses to take tourists to see the birthplaces of John, Paul, George and Ringo. This book is a great way to introduce the story of the Fab Four to a younger generation. It’s a simplified version of their story that children would be able to follow and understand but that adults will still enjoy too. The bright, bold illustrations are reminiscent of Beatles films and album artwork, specifically the rounded shapes of Yellow Submarine.
This is a beautiful book for sharing with young children to introduce the story and music of The Beatles.

This book was a redundant and quick exploration into the formation of The Beatles for kids. Interesting perspectives, but overall did not say anything out of the ordinary.

Children’s biographies are pretty popular and the market is close to being saturated, but I really liked this look at the beatles.  None of the information is new, but I like how they illustrated the book in the theme of The Yellow Submarine (A Beatles song).  It works well together and creates a pretty successful biography of a big band.
