I enjoyed my time with “Early Women Writers”. While this anthology is quite old now, I still think the collection has value. The editors do a great job pulling together a diverse (mostly along class/religion/marital status) set of British Literary figures. Some of the excerpts were fantastic reads, others were a tad dry, but overall I enjoyed learning about women pioneering writing as a hobby or vocation.
