I always enjoy jack reacher and this was no different. That being said I wish this had continued the cliffhanger from the end of 61 hours. It was mentioned but really it was just a regular teacher story.

First Jack Reacher book i've ever read! I enjoyed it, fast paced and easy to read. Slightly predictable but this book got me out of my reading rut.

Was dealing with some reader/writer's block and this really jarred everything loose so thank you Lee Child. It's just Reacher roaming around rural Nebraska beating up former Cornhusker football players and making impossible deductions - pretty much everything you could want? Gets real dark at the end, though!!

I found this book in a public restroom at a hotel where I was attending a conference two years ago. It had a "free! read me!" sticker on it. So, I read the back of the book, it looked interesting, I popped it into my bag and took it home. When I entered it on GoodReads, I learned that it was 15th in a series, and was sorely disappointed. I suppose, if I hadn't been in grad school and completely oblivious to everything in the outside world, I would have heard of Jack Reacher and known this but ... well, anyway. I was afraid I wouldn't understand what was going on, and didn't want to take the time to find and read 14 other books before getting around to this one. So it just sat on my bookshelf.

Not too long ago, I joined paperbackswap and listed this book there, so someone who was reading this series could request it from me and enjoy it. And then, in mid January, someone requested it from me. And then ... I got sad. I didn't want to give away the book without having read it. So... I read it. In four days.

It turns out, you don't really have to know anything at all about the first 14 books to understand this one. It may have been nice to know a little bit more about the character of Mr. Reacher, but it certainly wasn't necessary. Though I -would- like to know what happened to his arms! It's obviously something from the last book, but I guess I'll have to read it and find out.

The book was suspenseful and entertaining, and kept me reading. The language was easy, but still had great dialogue and the story sucked me in. I actually didn't like Mr. Reacher very much, though. And really, although I guess it's great he "solved" the case... I didn't like his resolution, or the fact that he just sort of butted into these people's lives out of nowhere. It was kind of weird that he didn't have any sort of connection at all to the town.

Anyway, it was a fast read and entertaining, but nothing particularly special I guess. I would read more though, to keep me entertained during travel when I just need a light read that keeps me guessing but doesn't make me think tooo much. I hope the next reader enjoys it!

could not put this thriller down. 15 books into the series, Jack Reacher is still as compelling as when readers first met him.
