Its out today! Received a review copy via Netgalley for an honest review.

This book is touted as the next ‘The Girl on the Train’; I suspect a marketing gimmick. I haven’t read it and it gives me an unbiased view on this novel. Since, I don’t have any point of reference, I guess this makes for a fair review.
....
Overall, it was a decent engrossing novel. But it could've been better. The unique storytelling was not executed with finesse, it had the potential. I’ve seen many reviews with 5 ratings but I personally felt the plot holes and the interaction with other characters were lacking depth. So I give it 3.

The atmospheric storytelling redeems the negatives however, making it a worthy read.

It's pretty good book. I liked how it recounted the 15 days up to the day it happened. I was surprised as to exactly what happened. I wasn't expecting it.

this fucking book. there are so many words to describe this, all of them good. this is peak thriller, peak small town, peak secondary characters, peak protagonist, peak mystery. JUST PEAK.

this book is brilliantly written. it being written in reverse for sure gave me a headache, but it was worth it. this is the perfect example of an unreliable narrator done right. the first thing i did when i finished the book was reread that first chapter and oh boy. this book hit every single mark. i feel like i don’t even know how to describe this book. you have to read it to understand.

i have said this MANY times before, but i’ll always be a sucker for toxic female friendships that are bad for everyone. and did corinne and nic DELIVER. corinne is the most batshit crazy character i’ve read about. i’m sorry, that ‘jump’ scene???? oh my god. and i was NOT expecting that plot twist in how she died. girlie fr killed herself and for what. she jumped in front of nic’s car AND FOR WHAT. and tyler is a real one for convincing nic that she hadn’t actually hit her
